The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cost Engineer to join our dynamic team within the offshore production projects division. This role is based in our Shanghai office and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to large-scale engineering projects within a global company committed to sustainable and innovative offshore solutions.

As a Cost Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting project financial management by providing detailed cost estimates, forecasts, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to ensure cost control and optimise project expenditure while maintaining quality and schedule performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for offshore production projects.
• Analyse project cost data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track project expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Perform risk assessments related to cost, identifying potential cost overruns and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and present cost reports, including progress curves and earned value management metrics, to stakeholders and senior management.
• Support procurement activities by evaluating subcontractor bids and cost implications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cost management processes and tools within the Project Control department.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and sustainability principles in all cost engineering activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Project Management or related discipline. Additional certifications in cost engineering or project controls are advantageous.
• Experience in cost engineering or project controls within offshore or heavy engineering projects is preferred.
• Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders.
