Job Summary:

We are seeking a chargeman to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of EV charging infrastructure by performing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance activities in accordance with regulatory and safety standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Operation, Maintenance (O&M) & Troubleshooting

• Monitor EV charger status, uptime, and performance
• Attend breakdowns and perform troubleshooting (power, network, communication issues)
• Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) and post-repair testing
• Ensure chargers operate safely, including shutdown and energizing activities
• Inspect electrical systems (MDB/DB, breakers, RCCB, grounding)

Corrective & Replacement Works

• Perform minor electrical rectification works
• Replace faulty charger components (modules, connectors, cables, breakers, fuses)
• Coordinate with vendors/OEM for major repairs or replacements
• Escalate critical or unresolved technical issues

Site Inspection, Safety & Compliance

• Conduct routine site inspections and maintain site housekeeping
• Ensure compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga/TNB safety requirements
• Monitor site conditions related to EV charger infrastructure
• Respond to safety risks (trip, overheating, burnt smell) and take immediate action

Vendor & Contractor Coordination

• Supervise and verify vendor/contractor work against specifications
• Coordinate site access, shutdown arrangements, and work schedules
• Follow up on pending rectification and ensure completion

Operational Support & Other Responsibilities

• Prepare maintenance/service reports and maintain records
• Track downtime, incidents, and asset information
• Report major issues and performance updates to management
• Provide on-call and emergency breakdown support
• Support charger commissioning, testing, and project rollouts
• Ensure SLA/KPI targets (e.g., uptime) are achieved
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the superior

Qualifications:

• Minimum Chargeman certification issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (e.g. AO/A1/A4 depending on site requirement)
• Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related field
• At least 2–3 years of experience in electrical maintenance or facilities management
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, safety standards, and troubleshooting
• Able to work independently and respond to emergency situations
• Willing to travel and work on-site when required
• Experience in EV charging systems is an added advantage
