Job Summary
The Manager – Tax Advisory, reporting directly to the Head of Tax Advisory, is responsible for overseeing all tax advisory and risk management matters for the Yinson Production group. This role demands strong relationship-building and project management skills, along with the ability to perform effectively in a challenging, international environment.
Responsibilities
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and monitor Transfer Pricing policy and Global Tax strategy, including communication on the developments and strategies to the relevant internal stakeholders;
- Develop and maintain the Tax Control Framework, including reporting to senior management;
- Provide holistic tax advice for the acquisition and structuring of new projects and/or divestments of existing projects (including M&A), financings and corporate actions, corporate reorganization, employment matters, and expansion into new jurisdictions;
- Monitor current and impending legislative and regulatory tax law developments in the relevant jurisdictions, evaluate the potential effects on the company and identify potentials tax risks, create strategies to mitigate tax risks;
- Ensure appropriate provisioning for taxation risks at both the local and global level;
- Review agreements with lessees, subcontractors, suppliers and other parties to ensure all relevant taxation clauses, terms, conditions, warranties and indemnities are included in relevant agreements
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the relevant tax authorities and external auditors and tax advisors; work with the tax authorities on various incentives, grants, reliefs, and manage any potential tax disputes that may arise, liaise with the parent organization in relation to tax matters
Requirements
- At least 8 years of work experience in tax advisory of which a couple of years inhouse. experience in the infrastructure and/or offshore oil and gas space is considered an advantage;
- Expertise across the different areas of tax, with a particular focus on cross-border tax matters, and a deep commercial understanding;
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate complex matters concisely and effectively across all levels of the organization;
- A systematic approach to solve complex problems and solution-oriented thinking with a high attention to detail and big picture view;
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to drive success;
- A high degree of self-motivation, ambitious and hands-on, with an entrepreneurial mindset;
- A good team player with the ability to engage with people and deliver within tight deadlines and in a fast-paced, international environment
- A good degree in accounting and/or taxation or equivalent from a recognized university and relevant professional qualifications
