Responsibility
The Fitter is responsible for ensuring that own day-to-day activities and those conducted by own peers, are carried out in a safe and healthy manner and that the impact of such activities on the environment is within acceptable limits
Duties
- The Fitter shall carry out maintenance and various repairs and shall ensure that the welding equipment is in good working order.
Note 1: The Fitter is not allowed to carry out any welding without permission.
Note 2: The Fitter is not authorized to manufacture any equipment that requires a pressure class.
- Comply with PTW system and work procedures applicable to the task to be executed.
- Execute general maintenance and cleaning tasks at own workspace(s)
- Execute routine tasks safely, to the best of his ability, and to report hazardous conditions.
- Keep all his tools, workshop equipment, stores etc. in good working order,
- Know purpose of all machinery systems and the way they operate
- Carry out the duties and tasks as specified in the Emergency Response Plan
Furthermore, the Fitter must perform the work required by his superior and perform tasks according to company procedures, including administrative or operational tasks.
HSE Responsibility
- Responsible for maintaining a high degree of awareness.
- Lead by doing; setting an example for others.
- Observe and report any unsafe activities, conditions or situations.
- If you observe anything unsafe use the ‘Stop Work’ Policy.
Qualifications
General education, certificates and experience:
- Coded welder with Mechanical and Metal worker skills
- Preferably Experience as Welder/ Rig Mechanic from offshore unit
In case the employee is designated as Fitter based on Minimum Safe Manning card, shall follow rule III/4 in accordance with STCW.
