*This is a 6-month maternity cover role*
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate processing of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), month-end close, and year-end audit activities.
- Allocate responsibilities effectively to balance workloads across the team and maintain high performance standards in all accounting practices.
- Drive resource optimisation and propose improvements to processes and systems, specifically IFS and Sigma, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Group Accounting Standards, ensuring the integrity of financial reports with no material audit misstatements.
- Review and validate monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee intercompany transactions, guaranteeing timely and accurate reporting across all entities.
- Coordinate with Group Finance and external auditors to meet all reporting deadlines, including the review of financial statements and satisfying auditors’ requests efficiently.
- Ensure that team members acquire adequate training in accounting standards and systems to promote professional development and performance.
- Support capital injection processes and ensure liquidity at the entity level to maintain operational effectiveness.
- Handle ad hoc requests and provide support across the finance function, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist.
Who are we looking for?
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is essential; a CA/CPA/ACCA qualification is compulsory and valued highly.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in finance operations, including significant experience with a Big 4 audit firm, demonstrating a solid understanding of the financial landscape.
- Proven leadership capabilities in managing diverse and international teams; experience and cultural awareness in working across different regions are desired.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local reporting requirements to ensure compliance and support effective financial planning.
- Experience with IFS and/or Sigma systems is advantageous, contributing to a seamless operating environment.
- A proactive, ethical, and collaborative leader with robust interpersonal skills to enhance team dynamics and performance.
- The ability to drive change, improve processes, and develop team capabilities is critical for this role.
