This hiring is for our subsidiary, Regulus Offshore. Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Regulus Offshore is a leading provider of offshore support vessels (OSVs) and floating support solutions.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. The Assistant Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Finance Manager in the overall operation of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aid in managing daily operations and financial reporting to ensure smooth and efficient processes.
- Prepare comprehensive accounts, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP) for Singapore entities, ensuring timely month-end closing activities in accordance with IFRS.
- Compile and prepare monthly management accounts, RPT schedules, IIP reports, balance sheet schedules, and bank reconciliations to provide accurate financial insights.
- Compile and deliver a monthly accounts analysis on a regular basis.
- Assist the manager in performing year-end assessments such as impairment assessments, Expected Credit Loss (ECL) evaluations, and Cost of Investment (COI) assessments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and meticulously review financial statements and submission reports required by regulatory authorities, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements.
- Ensure all financial transactions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable are recorded accurately and comprehensively to maintain the integrity of financial data.
- Support the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations to mitigate risks and avoid penalties.
- Identify and manage risks associated with the financial activities of the business, implementing measures to mitigate potential issues.
- Monitor and control expenses to ensure they remain within budget, providing insights and recommendations for cost management.
- Analyse operational processes, identify areas for improvement, and provide actionable insights to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Act as a liaison between various departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow, facilitating collaborative efforts.
- Assist and support internal and external auditors by addressing audit queries and requirements, coordinating with bankers, legal advisors, company secretaries, tax agents, and regulatory authorities to provide necessary documentation and information.
- To involve in initiatives focused on digitalization and automation.
- Undertake project work, ad-hoc assignments, or any other duties as requested by the Management, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to organizational goals.
Education / Experience Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree or Post-graduate Diploma in Accounting, or Professional Degree or equivalent Professional Accounting qualification.
- A member of ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent would be an advantage.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant working experience.
- Full command of Microsoft Office programmes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle various tasks and challenges.
- High level of motivation and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
