Role Summary
We are looking for a dynamic compliance professional to help shape and execute Yinson’s global compliance strategy across data privacy, anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC), and sanctions. This role is highly cross-functional and offers the opportunity to influence governance frameworks, manage regulatory obligations, and drive a culture of integrity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Privacy & Protection
- Maintain compliance with global privacy compliance efforts across GDPR, LGPD, UK GDPR, PDPA and other applicable laws.
- Lead Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), privacy risk assessments, and data mapping exercises.
- Develop and maintain Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).
- Review data protection clauses in contracts and third-party agreements.
- Review and negotiate data protection clauses, data processing agreements, and standard contractual clauses.
- Manage breach response protocols and liaise with regulators.
- Develop and deliver data privacy training and awareness programs globally.
ABAC & Sanctions Compliance
- Provide guidance on ABAC and sanctions obligations across jurisdictions.
- Review contractual clauses related to ABAC and sanctions.
- Conduct due diligence on high-risk entities and respond to client compliance requests.
- Support investigations and reporting of potential breaches or misconduct.
- Develop and deliver ABAC and sanctions training programs globally.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Legal, Compliance, IT, HR, and Procurement to implement privacy-by-design and ethical AI governance.
- Support the development of internal policies, frameworks, and compliance tools.
Qualifications & Experience
- 6+ years of progressive experience in privacy, data protection, sanctions and/or ABAC governance roles.
- Qualified lawyer (Malaysia) with 4–6 years PQE is welcome to apply.
- Familiarity with GDPR, PDPA (Malaysia & Singapore), ABAC frameworks (eg. ISO 37001), and sanctions is a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills to effectively collaborate with global, cross-functional teams.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CDPO) desirable.
- Candidates without prior experience but with the right working attitude and willingness to learn will also be considered
