The HSEQ Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 514 and other relevant local legislation. The role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining HSEQ policies, procedures, and programs to promote a safe and healthy working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSEQ policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA 1994 and other relevant local legislation.
- Conduct regular HSEQ audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Provide HSEQ training and awareness programs to employees and contractors to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Monitor and analyze HSEQ performance metrics and prepare regular reports for management review.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation.
- Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and international HSEQ regulations and best practices.
- Act as a point of contact for all HSEQ-related matters and provide guidance and support to employees and management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HSEQ roles.
- In-depth knowledge of ACT 514 and other relevant local legislation.
- Certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with a valid Green Book issued by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia.
- Familiar with ISO standards i.e., ISO 90001 Quality Management, ISO 14000 Environmental & ISO 45001 OSH Management System.
