Yinson GreenTech’s marine division, “marinEV” is looking for a motivated Project Controller to join the dynamic team working on maritime electrification projects including electric vessels, charging stations, logistics solutions, digital platform aimed at reducing carbon emissions.
The Project Controller is required to ensure that all commercial aspects of marine business unit and projects are properly managed and that contracts are finalized in accordance with relevant requirements. This role encompasses estimating, planning, tracking, managing, and reporting project costs, initiating and reviewing contracts, ensuring adherence to Company policies, and providing support to both project teams and management. The Project Controller works closely with the team to ensure financial accuracy and commercial contracts compliance.
This role involves frequent collaboration with the business development, project, procurement, operations, finance, tax, insurance and legal teams to prioritize marinEV's interests.
The Project Controller should be a self-starter with a hands-on approach in the works that include being a team player with:
- A strong cost control background in the marine or oil and gas sectors.
- Knowledge of contractual language and terminology.
- Experience in administration of contracts.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop & manage the Cost Controls function required for marinEV business unit and project execution.
- Collaborate with Management and various functional teams such as Business Development, Project, Procurement, Operation, Legal, Finance, Tax, and Insurance to review Client or Contractor/Supplier Contracts.
- Establish Project Control deliverables, reports and processes to meet Company’s requirements.
- Ensure the Contractor/Supplier’s payment terms meet Company’s cash flow requirements.
- Organize and maintain minutes for relevant meetings with Client, Contractor/Supplier and Company.
- Review and provide input to Project Management plans.
- Work with other YGT business units to identify synergies for standardizing cost reporting, and to ensure consistency in contracts and commercial practices.
- Assist in internal and external audits, reviewing records for accuracy and conformance to standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or Quantity Survey preferred.
Skills & Experiences:
- Proficiency with MS office Word, Excel and Power Point, ERP software system.
- Experience in project control, cost management, quantity survey, contract and commercial administration.
- Preferably experienced in industries of Oil & Gas, Marine and/or Construction.
- Understanding of basic principles of Contract law.
- Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and other Company policies and procedures.
- Presents good planning, organization, time management skill.
- Ability to travel overseas for business.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
