Mission

  • Management of process related operations and meeting of production KPI’s and production safety targets.
  • Ensure continuous process operation with a minimum of down time.
  • Assist in all support operations / duties to the operation and maintenance of the FPSO

Scope

  • Provide assistance to the Operations Superintendent on the following areas (not limited to):
  • Provide maximum technical and maintenance support to the respective unit.
  • Continuously improve and monitor the Computer Management Maintenance System (CMMS) for the respective unit.
  • Ensure safe, high quality and cost-effective process operation and maintenance of the FPSO process systems with minimum environmental impact in accordance with legislation, class/statutory, flag safety and Unit Management System.
  • Facilitate training and maintenance related activities in the Luanda Base office.
  • Assist the Operations Superintendent with all process related issues and keep the Operations Superintendent informed of the process unit status.
  • The management may assign additional tasks not listed in this Job Description.
  • Service at construction yard requires attendance at site as per yard working schedule.

Duties
General

  • Visit the allocated FPSO units once a month where possible or at least once in 3 month and carry out physical verification of equipment maintenance. Make proper Superintendents Visit reports after offshore visit and follow reporting matrix as determined by Operations Manager.
  • Liaise with the offshore team for assistance with maintenance and operation on the process plant.
  • Provide support for major breakdown / overhaul / major repair / modifications / surveys which include resources planning, vendor mobilization, spares / tools, follow up with supply chain and/or vendor, and any other logistic related to this breakdown.
  • Monitor and support contractor’s activities on the FPSO and ensure work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with the Management System.
  • Follow up on critical spares and shutdown planning in conjunction with onshore and offshore team and ensure all planned work activities are completed and process is ready for start-up with no delays
  • Review purchase request and liaise with procurement department to ensure purchase request and purchase orders are processed accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records for operation and maintenance system.
  • Verify the planning process (90 Days, Annual and 5-Yearly) and provide guidance as and when required.
  • Follow up Class, Flag and other statutory inspections / surveys including corrective / preventive actions as required.
  • Monitor and provide support for implementation and completion of Management of Changes.
  • Write and review Operational Procedures and Temporary Work instructions as required.

Process / Production

  • Track production rates and variances versus Client issued monthly nominations.
  • Fulfil the risk management requirements by ensuring all risks in production system and associate utilities are identified, procedures are established and implemented.
  • Manage and coordinate the manning of the Production Crew in cooperation with Operations Superintendent and Crewing Department to ensure composition of the Process Team offshore is adequate (competence, number of crew, performance). Performance of the offshore production team falls under Operations Superintendent responsibility.
  • Familiarize with the unit’s process systems and new policies and instructions issued by the company.
  • Ensure that process crew are trained in the safe operation and maintenance and provide on the job training for all personnel in the process department.
  • Monitor the routine tasks in conjunction with Production Supervisor.
  • Together with Operations Manager, Operations Superintendent and Technical Superintendent liaise with the Client representative on production issues.
  • Ensure the production crew is familiar with the safety shut-down system and the knowledge of necessary actions to take in the event of alarms / shut-down situations, i.e., PSD, ESD, fire and gas alarms.
  • Review all F&G, Safety system inhibits including monthly registers (LO/LC, PSV’s, Spec Blind registers).
  • Review work permits, risk assessments in the Unisea system and monitor work being carried out daily.

Maintenance

  • Actively monitor the reporting through CMMS and other maintenance / inspection reports with the aim to ensure continuous improvement regarding the effectiveness of maintenance.
  • Utilize the CMMS to ensure compliance and to report any non-compliance. Monitor the CMMS system and follow up on planned tasks and address any outstanding tasks.
  • Responsible for ensuring sufficient stock level, and timely ordering of spare parts and process chemicals to ensure the FPSO operational capabilities and safety.
  • Review the critical equipment spares and instruct / support the units as required to maintain critical spares.

Reporting

  • Monitor all offshore reports logs and spreadsheets e.g. Daily Production Report, Chemical Injection Report and any other relevant reports required to compile monthly reports both for Client and internal.
  • Review reports from technical and maintenance service providers and initiate appropriate actions as required to rectify the issues, if any.

Safety

  • Have the knowledge of safety requirements, including Permit To Work systems, operational and emergency procedures company policy and instructions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Safety Management System and operational procedures are implemented within the production department.
  • Ensure all activities are performed safety in accordance with procedures.

Budget

  • Provide budget requirements to Operations Superintendent in terms of maintenance, long term plan and surveys.

Authority

  • Delegated authority by Operations Superintendent.

Qualifications

  • Technical education at higher level or STCW III/2.
  • Complete Advance Process Operation training.
  • Process Engineer or 10 years’ experience in offshore oil and gas production.
  • Experience in Process Operation, Oil Field Operation and having good knowledge of the nature of oil, gas and water.
  • Production and associated problem-shooting
  • Have supervision experience
  • Standard of competence according to Yinson Competence Assurance Matrix
  • Excellent command in English written and spoken.
