Mission
Management of electrical & instrumentation teams, operation & maintenance to ensure continuous reliability of FPSO’s equipment with minimum of down time


Scope

  •  Area of responsibility covers management of the FPSO maintenance especially for Electrical & Instrumentation equipment
  • The management may and will assign additional tasks not listed in Job Description

 

Duties
To be fully familiar with rules & regulations applicable to his responsibilities (including knowledge of the relevant Class (ABS) and IEC standards).
To be fully familiar with the FPSO’s ESD, PSD, PCS, F&G system principles and software logic configurations (ESD/PSD Hierarchy, C&E Diagrams, P&IDs, voting logic, fail-safe practice, system redundancy, PID controller fine tuning, control valve characteristic types, etc.)
To assist offshore crew in providing maintenance and repair guidance of all electrical and instrument equipment including:

  • High and low voltage power generation and distribution systems (required knowledge of the AVR, Digital
  • Governor, manual synchronization principles, etc.)
  • Distributed Control System DCS & Safety Instrumented System SIS = ICSS – Integrated Control and Safety System
  • Critical Alarm and Action Panel (CAAP)
  • Fire & Gas Detection systems
  • Power management systems (containing Protection Relays (e.g. ABB REF, REM – type) and Intelligent
  • Electronic Devices (IEDs: e.g. Schneider MiCOM C264))
  • Alarm Management System (to be familiar with ANSI/ISA-18.2 Standard and EEMUA Publication 191 guidance)
  •  Radio equipment, Internal communications equipment, Public Address and General Alarm System (PA/GA), IT server & LAN equipment
  • Engine room equipment
  • Gas & Liquid fiscal metering systems
  • Generators and, transformers, motors, soft starter and variable frequency drives (VFD)
  • UPS systems
  • PLC-based Control Systems (e.g. Generator Control System, Boiler Control System, Radar Tank Gauging System etc.)
  • Field devices: transmitters, control valve positioners, analyzers, solenoid valves, valve position indicators (e.g. proximity switches), etc.
  • Marine navigational and identification systems
  • CCTV Systems

 

Which responsibilities shall include:

  • Keep records and logs for all designated E&I system (Ex-equipment registers, major equipment overhaul/service report, EL motor megger test & instrument calibration records).
  • To follow-through the PM and CM work order from initiation to completion for all E&I equipment.
  • Monitor spare part inventory related to all electrical equipment, provide input for minimum sparing of electrical equipment.
  • Follow up on critical spares and shutdown planning in conjunction with onshore and offshore team to ensure all planned work activities are completed and ready for restart with no delays.
  • To carry out regular inspection on FPSO E&I equipment and assess the reliability, escalate to Technical and E&I Superintendents if any abnormalities.
  • Make proper Superintendents visit reports after offshore visit and follow reporting matrix as determined by Operation Manager.
  • Work closely with Technical and E&I Superintendents to initiate and implement continuous improvement plan to improve FPSO reliability and reduce operational/maintenance cost.
  • Coordinate with Crewing Department and ensure composition of the E&I team offshore is adequate (competence, number of crew, performance). Performance of the offshore E&I team falls under the responsibility of the E&I Assistant Superintendent.
  • Ensure personnel qualifications are established and that each individual is given the opportunity of improvement through selective on the job training.
  • Ensure proper safety practices and measures are adhered by E&I technicians.
  • Perform all duties in manner consistent with Yinson’s HSE policies.
  • To support on eMOC (TCP) issuance, Risk Analysis for equipment modifications and changes.
  • To perform RCA for major E&I equipment breakdown and ensure complete closeout of root cause findings.
  • To monitor and support the implementation of OSR PPGUA Performance Standards’ Assurance Task for SCE related to E&I.
  • Review purchase request and liaise with procurement department to ensure purchase request and purchase orders are processed accordingly.
  • Undertake training relevant to the position requirements
  • Offshore visits, audits of the PTW system, safety system and staff performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Control engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience as E&I engineer, preferable in oil & gas process plant.
  • Familiar with Malaysia Regulatory requirement, Petronas (PTS, PPGUA & etc.)
  • Familiar with Equipment Hazardous area classification standards and requirement – ATEX, IEC & etc.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Willing to work on odd hours and be on call during plant upsets.
  • Experience in working as a Team Leader
