Summer Internship – GIS Support in Renewable Energy

About the Role:
Yinson Renewables is looking for a motivated Master’s student, or final-year Bachelor’s student to join our Oslo team for a summer internship (June–August).
As a GIS Intern, you’ll support our technical team in using a commercial GIS platform to manage project data, improve workflows, and gather internal feedback. You’ll also gain practical exposure to how GIS contributes to the development and delivery of renewable energy projects such as wind, solar, and battery energy storage (BESS).
Responsibilities:
- Upload, organize, and manage project data using a commercial GIS tool.
- Collect feedback from colleagues to help enhance the tool’s usability.
- Collaborate with software developers and the technical team to streamline GIS workflows.
- Support preparation of internal maps, visualisations, and documentation for technical use.
- Assist in project-related tasks such as site screening, data verification, or layout support, depending on your background and interest.
Skills and Experience:
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree, final-year Bachelor’s degree or similar in GIS, Renewable Energy Engineering, Geomatics, or related fields.
- Familiar with commercial GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.).
- Interested in renewable energy technologies such as wind, solar, or BESS.
- Quick to learn new digital tools and able to adapt to evolving tasks.
- A good communicator with structured working habits.
- Fluent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
