Senior Electrical Engineer

Core Responsibilities
    This role requires good organization and coordination skills, as well as knowledge, communication, and management of Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls & Telecommunication (EICT) discipline in the following aspects as/when required:

  • Primary support for Operations and Business Development.
  • Owner for ETAP (Electrical Digital Twin Platform).
  • Support Modification works, along with base Operations team, in terms of support planning, definition, award and manage vendor’s technical deliverables for basic and detailed design, as well as their timely issuance to support construction and integration activities.
  • Responsible for discipline related approvals in Management of Change process.
  • Engaged in Lesson Learnt approach and process. Continuously promote good practice through lifecycle approach.
  • Develop, write and/or review philosophies and standards.
  • Perform site survey/inspections.
  • Partake in HAZID / HAZOP reassessment, Risk Assessment, SIL studies and other relevant studies.
  • Assist with preparation of discipline-related technical specifications and drawings with regards to YP, Client and Classification Society requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with basis of design and corporate specifications / philosophy / standards.
  • Ensure vendor’s adherence to specified requirements and review of documents, drawings, and calculations.
  • Travel as required, including but not limited to shipyards, other Yinson offices, candidate vessels (onshore/offshore), operational production units (offshore) and onshore support bases.
  • Involve, contribute, and support to YP’s digitalization strategies, initiatives, improvement and optimization in technology advancement areas involving (but not limited to) predictive analytics, real-time monitoring, Machine Learning and/or other related areas.

 

Duties

  • Participate in the EICT discipline's ongoing work tasks at any given time and assist the department's other disciplines.
  • Positive engagement with peers within the same discipline.
  • Interact with Client and manage vendors as required.
  • Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging methodology improvements; and absorbing new practices from clients and partners.
  • Embrace problem solving and troubleshooting mindset, related and non-related to own discipline in all phases of lifecycle.
  • Provide periodic reporting as required upon.
  • Interact with non-technical disciplines as required.
  • Other relevant tasks as requested by Reporting Manager and Chief Technical Officer.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant field.
  • Experience from a similar position.
  • Interest in the Oil & Gas-, Shipping- or Renewables industry.
  • Relevant experience from the industry of some kind is seen as a benefit.
  • Fluency in English, written and verbal. Norwegian is not required, but a benefit.
     

Skills and experiences

  • Good use of Microsoft Office and discipline related applications. 
  • Good knowledge of International Standards and Classification requirements. 
  • Experience with FPSO projects and/or operations. 
  • Experienced in Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls & Telecommunication (EICT) discipline ( > 10 years)
