Role Purpose

Support the development and delivery of Yinson Production’s FLNG solutions and opportunities from early assessment and FEED through execution, commissioning and transition to operations. The role acts as an integrator across disciplines and functions to develop safe, operable, competitive and executable solutions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of Yinson Production’s FLNG strategy and development of project opportunities, technical solutions and execution plans.

  • Integrate process, liquefaction, hull, containment, marine, utilities, safety, commissioning and operational requirements into coherent FLNG concepts.

  • Drive opportunities through screening, concept development, pre-FEED, FEED preparation and tendering, maintaining continuity into project execution.

  • Represent Yinson Production with clients, licensors, contractors, suppliers, shipyards and classification societies, and provide input to commercial and investment decisions.

Duties

  • Assess FLNG opportunities from technical, execution, commercial and operational perspectives and develop competitive, executable solutions for clients.

  • Drive technical definition and integration across the complete FLNG facility, including early safety studies, interfaces and design assurance.

  • Develop execution, contracting and procurement strategies with licensors, suppliers, shipyards and Class to reduce cost and schedule and improve delivery certainty.

  • Contribute to proposals, commercial evaluations, contracts, investment decisions and risk assessments, balancing performance, cost, schedule and lifecycle value.

  • Work with Operations and Asset Management to embed safety, operability, maintainability, reliability and availability from concept through start-up.

  • Lead or support multidisciplinary workstreams, stakeholder alignment, lessons learned and development of Yinson Production’s FLNG standards and ways of working.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical, process, energy, mechanical, technical safety or a closely related engineering discipline.

  • Relevant experience from LNG, FLNG, FPSO, offshore gas processing or comparable complex offshore developments.

  • Experience from one or more project phases spanning development, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, start-up or operations.

  • Demonstrated multidisciplinary experience and ability to integrate technical, execution, commercial and operational considerations.

Beneficial

  • Practical knowledge of liquefaction, gas pre-treatment, cryogenic systems, power generation, LNG storage and export.

  • Experience with floating-facility integration, including topsides, hull, containment, marine systems, mooring and offloading.

  • Project experience involving licensors, engineering contractors, equipment suppliers, module contractors and shipyards.

  • Experience from FLNG yard work, offshore commissioning, start-up, operations readiness or operating asset support.

  • Commercial or business development experience, including proposals, contracts, cost evaluation or investment decisions.

  • International project experience, willingness to travel, and strong written and verbal English.

Functional Competencies

Essential

  • Strong multidisciplinary judgement, with the ability to identify critical issues and make sound decisions considering safety, execution, operability and economics.

  • Ability to translate client requirements and uncertainty into structured development plans, integrated technical solutions and clear recommendations.

  • Commercial and lifecycle mindset, understanding how technical choices affect CAPEX, OPEX, schedule, availability, risk and long-term asset value.

  • Clear communication and effective collaboration across engineering, projects, operations, commercial functions and external stakeholders.

Beneficial

  • Strong understanding of LNG and FLNG systems, associated hazards, operating constraints and performance drivers.

  • Understanding of engineering, modularisation, fabrication, shipyard integration, offshore execution, commissioning and start-up.

  • Ability to manage complex technical and organisational interfaces in a multi-package execution model.

  • Leadership through competence and credibility, with the ability to influence decisions without relying on formal authority.

  • Adaptable and delivery-focused, comfortable balancing strategic development with practical problem-solving across parallel priorities.

  • Commitment to process safety, risk management, engineering integrity and simple, robust and supportable solutions.

Seniority and Scope

Positions may be offered at different levels depending on experience and demonstrated capability. Senior appointments will have greater responsibility for leading workstreams, advising management, representing Yinson Production externally and mentoring colleagues; other appointments may focus on defined technical, development, execution, commissioning or operational-readiness areas.
