Responsibility
The Field Operator shall be in charge of the actual production process activities, as well as of the operation and maintenance of the process equipment. The Field Operator is responsible for ensuring that the his / her day-to-day activities and his/her peers, are carried out in a safe and healthy manner and that the impact of such activities on the environment is within acceptable limits.
Duties
- Ensure safe working conditions in the process area and shall ensure compliance with current safety regulations.
- Carry out measurements to maintain condition of process equipment / area and follow up 1st line maintenance according to the PMS (Planned Maintenance System) and applicable operational procedures.
- Perform mechanical primary checks (visual vibration, heat and noise).
- Add oil on pumps when required.
- Clean filters / strainers & change gasket where specialized knowledge is not required (pressure class max #150 and 6 inch and no lifting gear required).
- Clean sight glasses – Equipment.
- General housekeeping of the process plant.
- Process vessels clean out.
- Drainage of equipment.
- Prepare equipment for DFPV (Depressurization, Flushing, Purging and Venting), including draining and cleaning of vessels and equipment.
- Preserve equipment according to preservation routines.
- Assist in maintenance of process equipment when there is no production.
- Training of the production operator trainee.
- Carry out the duties and tasks as specified in the Emergency Response Plan.
- Report any abnormal situation and / or condition to his / her immediate supervisor.
- Field Operators can open flanges where specialized knowledge is not required (pressure class max. 150 and no lifting equipment required), however, tightening/bolt-up shall only be performed by specialized personnel (maintenance).
Field Operator shall carry tasks/duties given by the Production lead operator, assist the lead op. for daily reports as required. Assist in the preparation isolation & de-isolation of equipment during maintenance interventions. Assist with the shutdown and start-up of process equipment and relevant utilities. Visually inspect the safety equipment and reports any abnormality, executes the required work according to issued work permits. Assists any member of the team in cases of necessity, ensures work is performed in a safe condition. Be part of intervention team, keep the work environment tidy and clean.
Furthermore, the Field Operator must perform the work required by his superior and perform tasks according to company procedures, including administrative or operational tasks.
