Join our dynamic team at Yinson as an HSEQ Engineer. Based in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, this role is pivotal in ensuring the highest health, safety, environmental and quality standards within our offshore production division.

About the Role:
This position involves a proactive approach to managing health, safety, environmental protection, and quality assurance across all operations within your unit. You will work closely with various stakeholders to foster a culture of safety and compliance, contributing to the operational excellence that sets Yinson apart in the maritime and offshore industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all personnel in your unit are adequately briefed about and adhere to established procedures and practices.
  • Communicate Company policies to staff, contractors, and visitors, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Coordinate site emergency response efforts in collaboration with Base Management.
  • Report, analyse, and investigate incidents and accidents comprehensively to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure that all relevant statutory requirements are fully met within your area of responsibility.
  • Conduct regular inspections and servicing of all emergency equipment to guarantee functionality.
  • Provide HSE induction and training for new hires, contractors, customers, and visitors.
  • Ensure all staff are adequately trained in Health, Safety, and Environmental management practices.
  • Conduct regular HSE inspections and organise periodic audits on the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units.
  • Perform risk analyses for all processes with potential hazards, and ensure the implementation of effective risk controls.

  • Manage stakeholder relationships to provide solutions and services aligned with company standards.
  • Make informed decisions by identifying and evaluating risks, developing strategies to manage and mitigate them.
  • Encourage innovative thinking to improve efficiencies in work management.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Engineering with a postgraduate qualification in Safety Engineering.
  • Experience in the maritime or offshore-related industries.
  • Solid understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 (OHSAS 18001); familiarity with ISO 31000 is preferred.
  • Current knowledge of relevant IMO regulations and codes (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, ISPS, MODU) as well as classification society requirements related to HSEQ.
  • Capability to support risk assessment processes, such as HAZOPs.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English, both oral and written, is essential.
  • Specialization in Safety Engineering and further education will be beneficial.
  • Quality Auditor certification from a recognized certification body.
  • Proven skills in incident investigation, obtained through an accredited course.

Desirable Skills & Experiences:

  • Relevant experience within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Prior experience in the FPSO segment would be advantageous.
