Job Summary

Shutdown Engineer supporting production turnarounds and managing multi-disciplinary teams (Construction, Engineering, Procurement, and Quality Assurance) dedicated to resolving operational issues stemming from newly commissioned or constructed equipment.Assist in all support operations/duties to the operation and maintenance of the FPSO.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Act as Offshore Shutdown / Turnaround Engineer, responsible for planning, preparing, coordinating, monitoring, and closing out scheduled maintenance activities during FPSO Atlanta's shutdowns.
• Manage the Shutdown scope from the planning phase through to the completion of offshore activities, ensuring services are executed safely, with quality, on schedule, and in compliance with applicable technical, operational, legal, and contractual requirements.
• Ensure all activities under responsibility are carried out in compliance with laws, regulations, contractual requirements, safety procedures, and Yinson internal policies.
• Consolidate, review, and track the Shutdown scope, including preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, integrity, modifications, and other services scheduled for execution during the turnaround.
• Perform activity readiness reviews, proactively identifying WOs, materials, spare parts, tools, equipment, manpower, specialized services, technical documentation, and other necessary resources for execution.
• Develop and track the detailed shutdown schedule, ensuring alignment with the unit’s overall planning as well as operational and production constraints.
• Monitor the critical path, milestones, and Shutdown interfaces, identifying deviations and proposing corrective actions to ensure schedule compliance.
• Coordinate interfaces among Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Integrity, HSE/HSEQ, Procurement, Logistics, Planning, Contracts, and third-party contractors, ensuring proper alignment for activity execution.
• Support the definition of the Shutdown execution strategy, including activity sequencing, priorities, resources, access, isolation, work permits, simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), and operational constraints.
• Monitor daily offshore activity execution, conducting physical progress control and proactively identifying schedule delay risks, interferences, resource shortages, or any execution bottlenecks.
• Lead Shutdown tracking and alignment meetings, keeping stakeholders updated on progress, major deviations, risks, constraints, and necessary actions.
• Ensure proper tracking and updating of WOs and other maintenance logs, ensuring full traceability of executed scope and pending work items.
• Coordinate the mobilization and utilization of Shutdown resources, including POB, manpower, contractors, materials, tools, equipment, and specialized services.
• Work closely with Procurement and Logistics teams to guarantee the availability of required materials, spares, tools, and equipment before and during the shutdown.
• Support Shutdown POB planning and control, considering the resources needed for activity execution alongside the vessel's accommodation and logistical constraints.
• Coordinate contractor and service provider interfaces involved in the turnaround, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Identify, evaluate, and track risks, constraints, execution conflicts, and optimization opportunities for the Shutdown, proposing mitigation action plans.
• Ensure activities are executed in accordance with safety procedures, HSEQ requirements, Yinson technical standards, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure critical activities are properly planned, incorporating isolation requirements, LOTO, PTW, SIMOPS, and operational controls into planning and execution as applicable.
• Monitor Shutdown-related costs alongside Planning, Procurement, Contracts, and Cost Control teams, identifying potential budget variances.
• Prepare and/or consolidate progress reports, performance indicators (KPIs), status reports, dashboards, and management presentations related to the Shutdown.
• Report key progress, risks, deviations, and challenges to the Asset Operations Manager, proposing action plans to achieve established targets.
• Serve as the focal point for Shutdown-related matters, fostering efficient communication between offshore and onshore teams.
• Coordinate the pre-Shutdown, Shutdown, and post-Shutdown process, ensuring preparatory activities, execution, punch list resolution, documentation, and handover are properly conducted.
• Ensure completed activities are properly recorded, and remaining work items are identified, evaluated, and addressed per the asset's maintenance strategy.
• Support post-shutdown lessons learned sessions, identifying improvement opportunities for future Shutdowns.
• Liaise with Yinson Brazil’s Fleet Technical Support Manager to align strategies, resources, standards, and initiatives related to Shutdowns and maintenance

Qualifications

• Essential
  • Engineering degree 
  • CREA-RJ accredited.
  • Excellent English and Portuguese verbal and written communication skills
• Desirable
  • A Post-Graduation degree would be desirable.
  • Postgraduate Degree in Project Management

Skills & Experience

• Experience in coordinating FPSO carry-over projects
• Eexperience as an Operations Engineer in the Brazilian O&G sector
• Experienced working in FPSO projects and/or Operations.
