Position: Operations Intern

Location: Rio de Janeiro

The Operations Intern role at Yinson Bergenia Servicos de Operação Ltda is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are eager to develop their skills in the dynamic environment of the offshore production industry. As an integral part of the Onshore Operations Support team, you will gain firsthand experience and insights into the various operations that support offshore activities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work under the guidance of the Onshore Team to assist in the monitoring and control of daily operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company standards.
  • Manage communication and coordination with subcontractors and suppliers to guarantee the timely and quality delivery of services and materials, bolstering operational success.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments to address both vessel and global demands, enhancing interdepartmental synergy and response capabilities.
  • Participate in workshops focused on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices, including Task Risk Analysis and Critical Analysis, to bolster safety awareness and operational readiness.
  • Attend client meetings to gain a deeper understanding of contracts and the operational responsibilities of the team, enhancing your learning experience.
  • Provide support to the Operations interface, promoting seamless interactions across all onshore and offshore departments.

Duties:

  • Support the Onshore Team in maintaining the Operations Management System and the Computerized Maintenance Management System, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating procedures, work instructions, and job descriptions to align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare documentation for Purchasing Order/Contract issuance, including drafting Scopes of Work and conducting Technical Analyses.
  • Join and assist in audits and inspections to assess compliance and effectiveness of operational processes.
  • Track and document the status of material embark/disembark as well as 3rd party mobilizations and payments, providing essential updates to the team.
  • All internship activities will be conducted onshore; the intern shall not embark offshore.
  • Engage in quarterly feedback sessions with your direct report to discuss performance, challenges, and growth opportunities.
  • By the end of the internship, it is anticipated that you will be capable of articulating the fundamentals of oil, gas, and water topsides, as well as marine processes, including cargo oil storage, handling, and offloading.

HSE Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness, actively observing and reporting any unsafe activities, conditions, or situations.
  • Utilise the "Stop Work" policy whenever unsafe conditions are observed, prioritising safety in all operational activities.

Qualifications:

  • Mandatory: Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering with the availability for a 2-year internship.
  • Desirable: Coursework in technical subjects related to operations or engineering.

Skills & Experiences:

  • Mandatory: Basic understanding of English and proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Desirable: Intermediate command of English to facilitate communication in a multinational team environment.
