Job Summary

Yinson GreenTech is looking for a motivated Naval Architect Engineer to join our marine division (“marinEV”) to develop exciting solutions for electric harbour craft and charging infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a proactive work attitude with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a wide range of complex and time sensitive tasks. In this position, you will provide project execution and technical support to drive the growth of new business opportunities. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in ship design who takes pride in developing the most energy efficient vessel no matter the size.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical development for marine EV designs, focusing on energy efficiency and functionality.
  • Propose hull designs and equipment selection for project and business development.
  • Evaluate ship design solutions from third-party consultants and provide timely feedback.
  • Use simulation software to analyze power, resistance, and speed characteristics.
  • Research emerging technologies for drag reduction and integration into projects.
  • Assist in developing a versatile marine system design, including propulsion and navigation.
  • Support business development through technical sales functions and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with academic and research institutes on technological advancements.

  • Good technical knowledge in marine systems engineering and can perform analytics to optimize ship design for electric propulsion.

  • Able to work effectively with the project teams, achieve a good working relationship and act in the interests of the company at all times.

  • Shall have excellent verbal and written language skills, fluent English verbal and written.

  • Shall be able to quickly identify problems and coordinate solutions.

  • Shall be self-motivated, proactive and able to take responsibility for own actions.
  • Make good technical decisions and ensure that solutions are properly implemented.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in a technical subject related to naval design
  • Degree in naval architect engineering

 

Skills & Experiences

  • Good use of MS Office
  • Good use of AutoCad and ship performance prediction software
  • Experience in ship design for small to medium sized vessels
  • 5 - 7 years of industry experience
  • Able to write Technical Reports
  • Design experience in electric or hybrid vessels.
