Project Engineer, marinEV

Job Summary

Yinson GreenTech is looking for a motivated Project Engineer to join our marine division (“marinEV”) to develop exciting solutions for electric harbour craft and charging infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a proactive work attitude with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a wide range of complex and time sensitive tasks. In this position, you will provide project execution and technical support to drive the growth of new business opportunities. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in emerging technologies related to marine electrification, battery, propulsion, power electronics and smart grid design.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Support marinEV's product development in line with its growth strategies and business plan. Take technical and commercial lead to represent marinEV’s best interest and achieve project objectives by working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

  2. Oversee the project through its phases (concept, engineering, procurement, construction, integration, commissioning, testing, lesson learnt and optimisation) to deliver a fleet of high-quality electric vessels and charging station assets for commercialisation.

  3. Work closely with project stakeholders such as engineering contractors, OEMs, shipyard, Class, operators and local authorities to drive progress and resolve issues through regular meetings, workshop sessions, site visits and joint inspections etc..

  4. Implement plan and schedule to scale up production of vessels in terms of execution and operational support / maintenance.

  5. Prepare and submit monthly project progress report, include progress calculation & S Curve.

  6. Performance engineering to achieve optimal energy efficiency on all engineering disciplines.

  7. Collaborate with other Yinson GreenTech business units on synergies for technology innovations.   

  8. Monitor / report project status against metrics such as performance, budget, schedule and quality.

  9. Proactively manage the interfaces of the project to ensure relevant inputs are received timely for incorporation into the design. This involves good coordination with the team internally as well as Client, Class and vendors externally.

  10. Assist troubleshooting during construction, mechanical completion and commissioning phase of the project.

  11. Manage engineering contractors, shipyards and equipment vendors to deliver their scope within the project’s schedule and budget constraints.

  12. Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging technology, improvements and absorbing new practices from the market.

  13. Other tasks as requested.

Skills & Experience

    • Good use of MS Office
    • Know-how in project engineering or management in marine industry
    • 6 - 10 years of industry experience
  • Desirable
    • Experience in ship design and construction
